Shut down your computer if it currently is powered on. Once your computer is powered down, remove the power cord.

Set the computer down on its left side, press the oval buttons on the top and bottom (at the back) of the computer, and then pull on the side of the case to open the computer cover.

Remove the memory modules that are already installed in the computer by pressing on the tabs that hold them in place. This releases the modules so that you can pull them out of their slots.
